When you arrive here for the first time, you can see only thin horizons and nothing more,
only the sky and tundra. No volcanoes, like in Kamchatka, or peaked fur-trees like in Alaska;
you cannot realize what is so beautiful here. And for an artist it is not clear at all how it can be represented in a picture
and which landscape format to choose if you constantly wish to turn around on all of 360 degrees.
The artists' tasks arising here in Chukotka, are not easy, and due to the weather, even in summer, the constant winds
and rain leave no possibility to do traditional work on an open-air. But gradually, the energy of tundra's open spaces,
its air and greatness of simplicity fill your soul, and then comes the understanding of how to see this land,
and what techniques the artist should use to transfer this all in a picture.
