These great volcano rows haven't changed for thousands of years, they seem to sail in the grey metal waters of the Pacific Ocean for centuries. They were the same for Krasheninnikov, Steller, for our fathers and grandfathers, for Russians and Etelmens when they first arrived here. You will find them right in the same place. A series of albums "Russia. The Far East" is devoted to the hidden bridge going through the east edge of our country from north to south, from Chukotka to Kamchatka and Sakhalin, from Kuril islands to Primorsky region and Khabarovsk. All these regions are connected by the similar spirit, similar history of development, one way of life, similar destinies and characters of the people, one name. This is what unites us living on east boundary of our homeland, and makes believe that all of us are the fellow countrymen of the same forgotten country, the same mysterious Territory. And the name of it - the Far East.

This album is about time which we all have got on this Earth, time to live and love the beautiful world around us and time to forget. It is a story about every day of our life, of what surronds us, creates our own destiny and reminds us of those who have lived here hundreds of years before and of those who will live in the future. It is a story of the Spirit which lives in all the rivers and mountains of the island, the Spirit which creates eternal name of Sakhalin.

		Photo album Chukotka - the Territory of Beauty series "Russia. The Far East" Dedicated to all those people, who saw the landscapes of Chukotka in different ages and centuries. We will never know their names or their lives, but we can feel the same when we watch the red sunset, the blue ocean or the white rocks of ice. Nothing has changed and nothing will ever change. There will be no ethnography, no stories about whale-hunters or deer-breeders in our album. We won't tell about the history of bone-carving or life of native Chukcha people. There are too many books like that. Our album has another aim - to show the beauty of this northern world, to find energy in every single flower or a tree, to reflect emotions of joy and excitement, which are the same for the people of all nationalities - Russian or Chukcha, American or European. This is a story about the land which was admired by first navigators and travellers and which will be admired by next generations.
